Throwback Jam - by Sunshine Anderson "Heard It All Before"

Erykah Badu

Alright ya'll, you already know what time it is...We're back for another Throwback (Thursday) Jam!

This song gives me every moment of early 2000's. In fact, "Heard It All Before" by Sunshine Anderson dropped on February 27, 2001 as the first single from her debut album Your Woman. Sunshine Anderson was literally all over the airwaves with this one. Some call it a ladies only anthem, however I know me and my boys bopped along to the beat and lyrics. Ok, ok, ok I get it, she did have a whole ass red voodoo doll in the music video, lol.

Here's some quick background on the artist known as Sunshine Anderson. Sunshine Jocelyn Sian Anderson has had a pretty interesting music career, filled with long career pauses. Originally from Winston Salem, North Carolina.

At on point Macy Gray stepped in as Sunshines manager and was later signed to Atlanta Records. Under the management of Macy Gray, Sunshine released one album, which happened to be her debut album, titled Your Woman. Later signed to Matthew Knowles label, Music World Music. Heard It All Before peaked at #18 on the Hot 100 Charts and #3 on the . Your Woman did 74,000 sales in its first week and came in #8 on the Billboard 200. The second single "Lunch or Dinner" peaking at #54 on R&B charts.

Written by Anderson, Mike City, Chris Dawley, Rayshawn Sherrer, the lead single was certified Silver in the United Kingdom.

I think we all know the feeling of heard it all before. Especially the part where she says,

"You're lies ain't workin' now

Look who's hurting now?

Heard it all before"
